NEW ROCHELLE, NY—
Isabellah Middleton and
Zoey Ward of the Iona University women's basketball team have been recognized by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers' Association for stellar seasons in 2025-26. Ward garnered All-Met Third Team honors and Middleton received All-Met honorable mention as announced by the organization Tuesday morning.
There are 21 colleges and universities and more than 300 athletes under the MBWA Division I women's basketball umbrella. It is the first time since the 2023 season that Maroon & Gold were represented on the All-Met teams.
ZOEY WARD
Ward received All-Met third team honors following a sensational junior campaign for the Maroon & Gold. The junior started all 32 games this season, ranking second in the MAAC with an average of 35.8 minutes per game. She led the Maroon & Gold with 13.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Ward ranked sixth among league scorers and was second in rebounding this past season.
The Gastonia, NC native collected MAAC Player of the Week and MBWA Player of the Week honors after averaging 22.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 weekend in league play. She totaled 24 double-digit scoring efforts on the season including seven 20-point performances. Ward ranked second in the MAAC with 10 double-doubles this past season.
ISABELLAH MIDDLETON
Middleton was named All-Met honorable mention after a stellar final collegiate season with the Maroon & Gold that also saw All-MAAC Second Team and All-MAAC Defensive Team honors. She started 31 games in her lone season at Iona, ranking second on the team with 13.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game to pair with a team-best 2.5 steals per game. Middleton ranked second in the MAAC in steals per game. She also ranked sixth in the conference in scoring and ninth in rebounding. Her 76 steals on the defensive end rank fourth among the program's all-time single season record book.
The Leesburg, VA native tallied 24 double-digit scoring efforts with seven 20-point performances along with eight double-doubles which ranked third in the MAAC this past season. She ended her collegiate career with 1,449 points, 702 rebounds, 151 assists and 205 steals.
