BROOKLYN, NY - The Iona College men's swimming and diving team closed out the regular season Thursday evening with a dual meet with St. Francis (NY) in Brooklyn. The Gaels completed their final meet before the MAAC Championships with a 117.5-82.5 victory over the Terriers.
In the 200 yard medley relay, the Iona A relay took first with a time of 1:42.06. The Iona B relay took second with a time of 1:43.51 while the Iona C relay took third with a time of 1:46.22.
In the 1000 yard freestyle, Zachary Benoit took first with a time of 10:30.63.
Raymond Joyal was second in the event with a time of 10:57.11 while
Michael O'Connor took fourth with a time of 11:09.49.
In the 200 yard butterfly, Kotonias took first with a time of 2:02.42.
Tyler Elfert was third with a time of 2:06.31 and
Michael Wu was fourth with a time of 2:10.55.
In the 100 yard freestyle, Tasman took first with a time of 50.53.
Lee Stiles was second with a time of 51.68 and
Vincent Carbone took fourth with a time of 53.76.
In the 200 yard backstroke,
Mark Wallace took first with a time of 2:02.83.
Ralph Porrazzo took second in the event with a time of 2:05.43.
Grigull took first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:08.03.
Joseph De Leone was second with a time of 5:08.36 and
Denis O'Connor was fourth with a time of 5:29.96.
In the 200 yard breaststroke, Yacobacci finished with a time of 2:10.65.
Chris Giovine touched the wall with a time of 2:14.76and
Ryan Bacci recorded a time of 2:31.72 in the event.
In the 200 yard freestyle relay, the Iona A relay clocked in with a time of 1:32.11. The Iona B relay clocked in with a time of 1:34.70 and the Iona C finished with a time of 1:39.68.
