STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - A.J. English, Men's Basketball

Sophomore guard A.J. English stood out for the men's basketball team, as he averaged 26.0 points and 3.5 assists. English shot 17-31 (54.8%), and 14-22 (63.6%) from beyond the arc.

In Dayton, English poured in a career-high 30 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field and 8-of-10 from beyond the arc. He scored Iona's final 15 points of the contest in the last 4:31 of the game, as the Gaels fell 96-84.

English led the Gaels with 22 points in the ESPNU Bracketbusters return matchup against Nevada at the Lawlor Events Center. English's 22 points came on 8-for-16 shooting from the field and 6-of-12 from beyond the arc. He added five assists and three rebounds with a block and a steal.
