Western Michigan Defeats Volleyball In Three Sets

GAINESVILLE, FL - The Iona College volleyball team fell in three sets to Western Michigan in its opening contest of the Active Ankle Challenge hosted by the University of Florida. The Broncos topped the Gaels 25-16, 25-11, 25-14.

Junior Catrina Warren's 11 kills led the Maroon & Gold. She completed her first double-double of the year with 12 digs. Sophomore Katy Crouse posted eight kills and four digs. Sophomore setter Natalie Ziskin posted 19 assists.

Western Michigan was led by three performers with double-digit kills. Stephenee Yancy had 12 kills to lead the way. Lena Oliver had 14 digs and setter Lexi Pawlik had 35 assists.

The Gaels complete action in Gainesville tomorrow when they take on the host Gators and Georgetown University.
