BLOOMINGTON, IN - The Iona College rugby team kicked off its 2019 fall slate with a 33-5 victory over Indiana University on the road at Sembower Field. After leading 7-0 at halftime, the Gaels outscored the Hoosiers 26-5 in the second half.

Michael Hay scoring for Iona. Mascolo converted three kicks, while Powers posted the Gaels' fourth conversion of the contest.
Leading 7-0, Iona stretched the lead to 14 early in the second half. After conceding the only try of the game by Indiana in the 52nd minute, the Gaels scored the final 19 points of the contest to seal the win.
Iona hosts Trinity College of Dublin, Ireland in their home opener at Mazzella Field next Saturday, September 7.
