NEW YORK, New York - The Iona University women's indoor track and field team opened the 2023-24 campaign at the Rutgers Holiday Classic at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York City.
WOMEN'S 1,000-METER RUN
A trio of Gaels finished second through third led by rookie
Lily Overton's indoor track debut. Overton posted a second place time of 3:03.90. Junior
Katie Menard was right behind her teammate in 3:04.65. She was followed by classmate
Cosmina Spiridon (3:06.78) in the 11-runner race field.
WOMEN'S 400-METER RUN
Junior
Jamie Gudyka earned sixth place in the 400-meter run, posting a 1:03.88.
WOMEN'S 3,000-METER RUN
Freshman
McKenna Arguien was 16th (10:36.58) in the 3,000-meter event.
WOMEN'S LONG JUMP
Junior
Tonian Fullerton posted a 4.84m distance in the long jump.
WOMEN'S 200-METER DASH
Freshman Lauren Sonski (17th, 27.14) and sophomore
Maeghan Hickey (26th, 28.82) competed in the 200-meter dash.
WOMEN'S 300-METER RUN
Sophomore
Nadine Jefremow finished 17th (45.28) in the 300-meter run.
