Iona WBB Up To No. 15 in College Insider Mid-Major Top 25

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona University women's basketball team (17-5 overall, 12-1 MAAC) picked up 295 votes in the College Insider Women's Mid Major Top 25 Poll, moving up two spots to No. 15.

The Gaels secured a pair of road wins this past week, sweeping the Western New York swing to extend its win streak to 11 straight games. The first-place Gaels rank second in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (40.5%) and sixth in the country in field goal percentage (48.3%). Iona is still the only MAAC team currently inside the top 25 of the poll; Quinnipiac received seven votes.

Iona is back at the Hynes Athletics Center this week, hosting Fairfield, (Feb. 9 at 7:00 p.m.). The Stags are responsible for Iona's lone conference loss this season, holding the Maroon & Gold to a season-low 43 points on December 19. Iona is 9-1 this season at home and a perfect 6-0 against MAAC opponents in New Rochelle.
