Kate Mager of Iona WBB Wins College Three-Point Championship at NCAA Final Four

HOUSTON, TX – Kate Mager of Iona women's basketball won both the Celsius Women's 3-Point Championship and the 34th State Farm College 3-Point Championship on Thursday night at the Bayou Music Center in downtown Houston.

One of the most prolific shooters in all of college basketball, Mager was voted to the All-MAAC Second Team and was named to the MAAC All-Tournament Team. A major difference maker for the Maroon & Gold, she finished the regular season second in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (49.7%), fifth in three-point field goals per game (3.17) and seventh in three-point field goals made (92). Mager set a single-season program record for three-point field goal percentage; her 104 trifectas were good for second most in a single season and her field goal percentage (52.0%) is currently the fifth highest in Iona history.
 
The State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships invites the nation's elite men's and women's college basketball players to compete for 3-point shooting bragging rights. The winners of the men's and women's 3-Point competitions face off in the Rocket Mortgage Battle of the Champions, which Mager defeated men's winner Antoine Davis (Detroit Mercy).
 
For nearly 35 years, several of the top players in college basketball have competed in the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships including Gary Payton, Steve Nash, Jason Terry, Kyle Korver, Bobby Hurley, Michael Finley, Denzel Valentine, Cappie Pondexter, Katie Gearlds, Kristi Toliver, Tiffany Hayes and Ariel Atkins.
