FAIRMOUNT, WV - The Iona University acrobatics and tumbling program wrapped up its inaugural campaign at the 2024 National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) National Championships hosted by Fairmount State University. The Gaels finished fifth in inversion pyramid in the event finals meet at the championship.

Alia Ellis,
Emma Kelley, and
Jenna Roby. The Gaels posted a score of 9.700, with Baylor, Mary Hardin-Baylor and Oregon finishing in the top three spots and Gannon taking fourth place. Three of the five programs in the event all participated in the final four of the team events.

Baylor won seven of the 15 event finals events, Oregon won four and Quinnipiac and Gannon two apiece.

The result completes the 2024 season for the Maroon & Gold, a successful first year as an acrobatics and tumbling program. Iona posted a 5-2 mark in the regular season, falling to No. 1 Baylor and No. 2 Quinnipiac while defeating LIU, Morgan State, Presbyterian, Georgian Court, and Kutztown in route to qualifying for the event final in the inversion pyramid event.
