NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Iona University men's basketball head coach
Tobin Anderson announced the pr promotion of
Luke Testani to Director of Analytics/Player Personnel for the program. Testani enters his second season with the Gaels, having served as the team's video coordinator last season.
"We are thrilled to elevate Luke to this new role," said Anderson. "His expertise in video and analytics is unparalleled, and he has already made significant contributions to our program. In his elevated role, Luke will continue to play a crucial role in the development of our student-athletes and the success of our team."
Testani joined Iona after a stint as an assistant coach at Division III Amherst College in Massachusetts. At Amherst, he contributed significantly to the development and success of the program. Before his time with the Mammoths, Testani spent two years as a graduate assistant at the University of Miami under the guidance of head coach Jim Larranaga. During his tenure with the Hurricanes, Testani was part of a remarkable turnaround, helping lead the team to a 26-11 record and an Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
A University of Michigan graduate, Testani served as a four-year manager under coaches John Beilein and Juwan Howard. His time in Ann Arbor was marked by the Wolverines' participation in three NCAA tournaments, including two Sweet 16 appearances and a trip to the NCAA Championship game in 2018. Testani's responsibilities at Michigan included assisting in practices and home games, coding game film, and providing support to players during and after practice.
In his new role, Testani will be responsible for overseeing the program's analytics, providing detailed statistical analysis to assist the coaching staff in making informed decisions. Additionally, he will manage player personnel matters, including player development and recruiting support.
