MADISON, WI – The Iona University men's cross country team finished 23rd out of 32 teams at the 2025 Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, competing at the Thomas Zimmer XC Course in a field that featured 23 programs ranked or receiving votes in this week's USTFCCCA Top 30 poll.
IONA PERFORMERS
Junior
Duncan Robinson led the Gaels with a 44th-place finish in 23:55.3, followed closely by sophomore
Bradley Giblin (123rd, 24:39.4) and classmate
Ollie Boltz (124th, 24:39.8). Senior
Matt Rankin crossed in 140th (24:48.5), with junior
Aiden Coles in 144th (24:52.1), rounding out Iona's top five scorers. Seniors
Ben MacMillan (155th, 24:58.5) and freshman
Billy Coogan (169th, 25:09.7) also competed for the Gaels.
TOP INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS
New Mexico's Habtom Samuel captured the individual title in 22:58.0, edging Washington State's Solomon Kipchoge (23:05.6) and Tulane's Bernard Cheruiyot (23:10.0). Colorado's Dominic Serem (23:20.2) and Washington State's Evans Kurui (23:26.5) completed the top five finishers.
TEAM RESULTS
No. 3 New Mexico won the team title with 51 points, followed by No. 5 Colorado (150), No. 11 Syracuse (152), No. 13 Northern Arizona (203), and No. 6 BYU (218) rounding out the top five.
