Iona Men's Golf Wins Matthews Auto Collegiate Invitational

Sahir Baylan shoots 9-under to secure the individual title by two strokes.

APALACHIN, NY – The Iona men's golf team turned in a wire-to-wire victory at the 2025 Matthews Auto Collegiate Invitational, winning the team title with an impressive 15-under-par performance at The Links at Hiawatha. Hosted by Binghamton University, the Gaels led after round one and never looked back, cruising to their first tournament win of the fall season.

Junior Sahir Balyan stole the spotlight, capturing the individual title with a stellar 9-under-par effort over 36 holes the first individual win of his collegiate career. All six Iona golfers finished inside the top 50, showcasing the team's depth and consistency.

Iona will be back in action at the Nassau Intercollegiate, hosted at Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, NY, on October 20–21.
