The first day of competition at the 20205 ECAC Open Championships held at the United States Naval Academy Lejeune Pool in Annapolis ended with the Iona women in seventh and the Iona men in tenth place.

The women's race has Bucknell (212); Navy (169); Penn (167); Loyola (134); Rutgers (107) and Fairfield (69) ahead of Iona with 63-points. Rounding out the top ten are: Delaware (28), Baruch (22) and FDU (18).

The host Navy men (288.5) and Loyola (141.5) stand on top with Columbia (99); Delaware (88); Bucknell (88) Fairfield (62); Army (58); Penn (56) and Rider (48), with Iona in tenth with 39-points in the twenty-team field.

The Women's 200-Freestyle Relay team of
Mary Grace Waring (24.84),
Morgan Yuengling (24.37),
Ela Goucher (24.39) and
Julia Moser (23.40) placed seventh. The Iona men took ninth at 1:25.75 with

The 500-yard Freestyle saw
Anabel Huffstutler take sixteenth in the women's race at 5:13.76 with
Matthew Woyksnar fourteenth in the men's race at 4:34.14.

Raegan O'Brien posted a season best time of 2:06.33 for tenth place in the 200-yard Individual Medley.

Graduate student
Julia Moser placed twelfth in the 50-yard Freestyle at 24.10.

O'Brien led off the women's 400-yard Medley Relay with a 56.47 backstroke leg, followed by classmate
Hailey Baker's 1:04.95 breaststroke and Waring's 57.16 butterfly effort. Sophomore
Kate Kennedy anchored with a 53.60 freestyle leg for a 3:54.13 time and sixth place.

The men's Medley Race saw Woyksnar leading off with a season best leg of 51.53 backstroke, followed by
Ajdin Methoxha's 59.24 breaststroke effort and Avila's 51.61 butterfly leg and a career best 46.87 freestyle anchor leg by
Robert Heim for a ninth-place time of 3:29.25.
