PRINCETON, NJ -  The Iona University women's outdoor track and field  team took part in the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University on Friday and Saturday. Multiple Maroon & Gold athletes lit up the track with personal bests, including 
Ava McAuliffe who threw down an impressive time in the 200-meter event for a school record.
WoMEN'S 200-meter dash
Ava McAuliffe not only set a personal best but an outdoor school record in the 200-meter event with a time of 25.12, finishing 15th overall. The Freshman's time bested her previous season best by more than half a second. 
WoMEN'S 400-meter run
Zaheira Hegazi placed herself well within the top five times in Iona school history with a personal record of 58.73 in the 400-meter event. Hegazi placed 18th overall with 
Lauren Sonski following in 24th with a time of 1:01.17.

The Gaels set their sights to next Saturday where they will battle in the 2025 MAAC Outdoor Championships at the Brady Outdoor Track & Field Complex in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
