JACKSONVILLE, FL – Iona University men's outdoor track sophomore
Duncan Robinson advanced to the 2025 NCAA Championships 1,500-meter semifinal round in Eugene, Oregon, following a standout performance in the quarterfinals at the NCAA Division I East Preliminary at Hodges Stadium, hosted by the University of North Florida. Fellow sophomore
Bradley Giblin also competed, racing in the 5,000-meter semifinal.
1,500-METER QUARTERFINAL
Just two days after qualifying for the quarterfinal, Robinson clocked a personal-best time of 3:40.04, nearly a full second faster than his NCAA qualifying mark of 3:40.94 recorded two weeks earlier at Princeton. He finished sixth overall in his heat and recorded the sixth-fastest time across both heats.

Georgetown senior Abel Teffra posted the fastest overall time at 3:38.65.

Out of 26 competitors across two heats, the top 12 advanced to the semifinals, which will be held on Wednesday, June 11, at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. This marks the third consecutive year the Gaels have had a representative at the NCAA Championships.
5,000-METER SEMIFINAL
Giblin finished with the 32nd-fastest time overall in the 5,000-meter semifinal, crossing the line in 14:32.82 and placing 20th in the second heat. The top 12 of the 48 competitors advanced to the final in Eugene.

It was Giblin's second straight appearance in the NCAA 5k semifinal in just his second year as a Gael.
UP NEXT
Robinson returns to the track for the 1,500-meter semifinal on Wednesday, June 11 at the University of Oregon. Race time is scheduled for 4:21 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN. The 1,500-meter final is set for Friday, June 13 at 8:12 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
