NEW YORK, NY - The Iona University men's indoor track & field team turned in a standout performance Sunday afternoon at the 118th Millrose Games, competing in the Michael C. Alcamo College Men's 4x400-meter relay at the Armory Track & Field Center.
The all-freshman relay quartet of
Wesner Archelus,
Alex Hannon,
Joshua Aceto, and
Jaylen Mozone delivered a third-place finish, showcasing depth and speed on one of the sport's biggest stages.
Archelus opened the race with a split of 51.54, followed by Hannon's 50.56 on the second leg. Aceto kept the Gaels in contention with a strong 49.85 third leg before Mozone closed the relay with a blazing 48.12 anchor. Mozone's final lap pushed Iona from fourth place through three legs into a podium finish.
The relay time marked the second-fastest 4x400-meter performance for Iona in the last decade, trailing only the 3:19.88 run by the quartet of Jadyn Tabois,
Jordan Providence,
Cameron Washington, and Jeremy Scott at the METS Championships on February 2, 2024.
