BOSTON, MA – The Iona University men's indoor track and field team turned in a strong performance at the IC4A Championships, finishing eighth among 20 teams at the BU Track & Tennis Center. The Gaels were highlighted by a gold and bronze medal efforts from junior

Matt Rankin.
1,000-METER RUN
Junior
Aiden Coles captured gold in dominant fashion, winning the 1,000 meters in 2:22.54. Coles crossed the line nearly three seconds ahead of the field, posting the fastest time in the MAAC this indoor season by a five-second margin. The performance ranks No. 4 on Iona's all-time list and stands as the program's fastest in the event in the last 20 years.
3,000-METER RUN
Senior
Matt Rankin earned silver in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:10.56, which stands as the fastest mark in the MAAC this season by four seconds. Freshman
Sean Lawton finished 16th in 8:27.98, followed by freshman
Jackson Jamison in 25th at 8:40.30. Junior
Jack O'Keefe rounded out the group with a 35th-place finish in 9:20.61.
800-METER RUN
Coles added a bronze medal in the 800 meters, clocking 1:51.95 for third place. He finished less than one second behind the winner and just a quarter-second shy of silver, with the time sitting only .01 seconds off the MAAC's season-leading mark. Junior
Christian Audrin placed fifth in 2:00.23.
400-METER RUN
Freshman
Jaylen Mozone turned in a fifth-place finish in the 400 meters, posting a time of 48.03. The performance ranks as the third-fastest time in the MAAC this indoor season.
MILE RUN
Freshman
Igor Ouwerkerk led the way in the mile, placing sixth with a time of 4:13.08. Audrin also competed in the event, finishing 30th in 4:27.22.
DISTANCE MEDLEY RELAY
