Iona Women's Lacrosse Earns IWLCA Academic Honor Squad Recognition; 10 Gaels Named to Academic Honor Roll

NORTHBOROUGH, MA – The Iona University women's lacrosse program was recognized for its outstanding academic success by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), earning 2026 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad recognition while placing 10 student-athletes on the 2026 IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll.

The IWLCA named 357 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as Academic Honor Squads for the 2025-26 academic year. To qualify for the prestigious honor, a program must post a team grade point average of 3.20 or higher for the academic year.

In addition to the team honor, the IWLCA recognized 1,209 student-athletes from 122 Division I institutions on the 2025-26 Division I Academic Honor Roll. Student-athletes are eligible for the award if they are juniors, seniors, or graduate students and have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

Representing the Gaels on the 2025-26 IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll were Alyssa Castellano, Victoria Curreri, Sabrina Faulkner, Lindsey Grove, Maliya Haddock, Amelia Kelley, Sydney Langton, Calen Norton, Kacie Scarduzio, and Lauren Sweeney.

The recognition highlights the continued commitment of the Iona women's lacrosse program to excellence in the classroom, as the Gaels continue to excel both academically and athletically.
