LACROSSE WINS OVERTIME BATTLE AGAINST CENTRAL CONNECTICUT

Lisa Baron's game winner put Iona ahead 13-12

New Rochelle, NY - The Iona College women's lacrosse team defeated Central Connecticut State University 13-12 this afternoon in non-conference action at Mazzella Field. Lisa Baron scored the game-winning goal in overtime for the victory.

Iona's six goal-scorers were Christie Godlewski (4), Marisa Audley (2), Jillian Beck (2), Jaclyn O'Leary (2), Baron (2), and Rachel O'Leary (1). Julia Steier led the Blue Devils with four goals.

Gael goalkeeper Carlee Street made five saves and picked up her sixth win of the season, while Alice Lee made ten saves and took the loss for CCSU.

Iona returns to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play on April 13, hosting LeMoyne at 3:00 pm.
