New Rochelle, NY- The Iona College baseball team dropped an 8-0 decision to Marist in the finale of a three-game Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Salesian Field. The Gaels (9-24, 3-10 MAAC) mustered just three hits off Red Fox (11-21, 7-7 MAAC) starter Stephen Peterson.
Marist led 2-0 through the first six innings before six runs in the final three.

Allie Abbatiello picked up Iona's first hit off Peterson in the bottom of the seventh inning, a double to left center. Senior RF

Mike Walraven (infield single) collected back-to-back hits in the eighth.
Junior LHP
Kevin Carmody (0-2) tossed five innings, allowed three hits and two runs (one earned) in the loss. Peterson (1-2) tossed eight innings to earn the win.
Marist DH Justin Lepore went 2-for-4 and 3B Kenny Anderson drove in two runs as nine different players collected hits for the visitors.
The Gaels return to action for a mid-week non-conference tilt at local rival Fordham on Tuesday evening.
