RIVERDALE, NY - The Iona College baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Manhattan this afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park. The Jaspers blanked the Gaels in both ends of the doubleheader, 6-0 and 4-0.
In the opener, the Japsers broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth inning with two runs off starter RHP
Shane Sveda. Five different Gaels recorded a hit with senior CF
Paul Salerno recording a double.
Sveda tossed 6.2 innings allowing five hits, three earned runs and had seven strikeouts in the loss.
In game two, Manhattan scored the only run it needed in the bottom of the second inning, adding a run in the fourth and two in the sixth. Junior C

Dylan McCullough each had two hits in game one.

Bobby DiNuzzo went the distance, allowing eight hits and the four runs while striking out two batters.
