New Rochelle, NY - The Iona College baseball team was shut out 17-0 in the series finale with Fairfield in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Salesian Field this afternoon. The Stags took the three-game series 2-1.

Senior 2B Ralph Marzella had his first multi-hit game of the season with a 2-for-4 day. Senior SS Joe Lorenzo extended his hitting streak to an Iona season-high 10 straight games. Lorenzo singled through the left side in the third inning. Sophomore LF Andrew Passerelle and freshmen 1B/C Chris Griffin and CF Trevor Hybner each had hits in the loss. Senior LHP Kevin Carmody took the loss.

The Gaels continue their seven-game homestand with a non-conference tilt against Stony Brook on Tuesday afternoon.
