TERRE-HAUTE, IN- Iona College women's cross country graduate Anna Holm-Joergensen finished 132nd overall at the 2009 NCAA Championship. She was the lone competitor representing the Gaels.
Joergensen completed the 6k course in 21:31.8. By virtue of finishing third at the NCAA Northeast Regionals, she earned a spot in the national race field. Joergensen performance marked the first appearance by an Iona women's runner since the 2007 season. In 2006, the Maroon & Gold placed a full team of seven runners in the NCAA Championship, finishing 20th overall.
The Gaels finished fourth overall at Regionals in Boston, MA nine days earlier after earning their MAAC-record fifth straight conference championship on Oct. 30 at Van Cortlandt Park.
