Tayla Gunton highlighted the second day of competition with one of the top 10,000-meter performances in program history, while freshmen
Alex Schulz,
Kiera Atkinson and
Arabella Dickfos each made their outdoor debuts for the Maroon & Gold.
10,000-METER RUN
Gunton placed 22nd in the 10,000-meter run in 33:23.61, lowering her personal best by nearly two and a half minutes. Her previous top time of 34:53.46 was set last season at the Raleigh Relays. The junior's mark now ranks third-fastest in program history behind Kate Avery's 31:41.44 in 2015 and Tara Jameson's 32:52.92 in 2016.
5,000-METER RUN
Schulz led Iona in the 5,000-meter run, finishing 31st in 16:15.27 in her outdoor debut. The freshman's performance ranks as the sixth-fastest time in program history.
Atkinson also made her outdoor debut in the event, crossing the line in 17:24.26 to place 132nd.
1500-METER RUN
Dickfos opened her outdoor career in the 1500-meter run and finished 191st with a time of 4:41.33.
