FAIRFAX, VA - Sophomore
Elizabeth Coholan and senior
Lisa Baron each netted a pair of goals, but it was not enough in the Iona College women's lacrosse team's 21-6 loss at George Mason. Sophomores
Kerry Thompson and
Caitlyn Collins each added one goal for the Gaels (1-6) while senior
Christie Godlewski picked up the team's only assist.
First half goals by Coholan and Collins left the Maroon & Gold within striking distance heading into the second half, however the Gaels were outmatched 14-4 over the final 30 minutes.
For the Patriots, six different players notched multiple goals, led by Brittany Berger's five. Goalies
Colleen Magri and
Carlee Street each played one half in front of the net for Iona, and the two combined to lead George Mason 8-4 in total saves.
