Simone kept up his hot hitting stroke of late with his first three-hit effort of the season. He's hit safely in five straight games and six of the last seven while batting .393 over the stretch. Senior C
Andrew Wernicki also recorded multiple hits with two singles. His hitting streak extended to an Iona season-best nine straight games including five games with multiple hits. It also bested his previous career-best eight game streak set as a sophomore in 2007.
The Gaels embark on a five-game road trip with beginning with a mid-week non-conference tilt at Wagner on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
