NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College lacrosse team was dealt its fourth straight loss, ending up on the wrong end of a 15-8 decision against Marist in MAAC action at Mazzella Field. The Gaels (4-10, 1-3 MAAC) tied the score twice before giving up the final seven goals of the contest to the Red Foxes (7-6, 4-1 MAAC).
Casey Scully led the Maroon & Gold with three goals on six shots, netting both the first and last tallies for the Gaels on the afternoon. Scully opened the game with a free position goal in the second minute to give Iona an early 1-0 lead. Marist fired back, logging four straight goals which included two by Kelly Condon and one each by Jori Procaccini and Shannon Haas.
Iona broke up the run as
Amber Zimmerlink netted a shot at 17:55 with an assist from
Kasey Hughes. Trailing 6-2 with a shade under 14 minutes remaining in the first half, the Gaels launched a four-goal run to tie things up at 6-6 heading into the break.
Courtney Hocking, Scully,
Elizabeth Coholan, and
Brittney Mabus scored for Iona in the stretch.
The Red Foxes picked up two goals over the first eight minutes of the second half, but Iona answered with back-to-back nods to once again even the count at 8-all. Marist went on to score seven unanswered while winning five of the last seven draw controls over the final 16:50.

Carlee Street made 12 saves in the loss. Iona continues its three game homestand with a 3:00 pm tilt against Canisius on Apr. 23.
