AMBLER, PA - The Iona College baseball team pounded out 14 hits but could not hold off Temple in the late innings in a 5-4 defeat at Skip Wilson Field. The Owls (8-5) scored all five of their runs in the final three frames to snap the Gaels' (5-7) five-game winning streak.
Sophomore RHP
Thomas Kriss allowed six hits over 6.1 innings with three runs and three strikeouts in a no decision. He was relieved by sophomore RHP
Matt Marley who allowed a run on three hits with two strikeouts in an inning and two-thirds. Junior
Anthony Castellitto took the loss in the ninth.
The Gaels will take on Stony Brook in a mid-week doubleheader on Wednesday (Mar. 16) on Long Island.
