ELLINGTON, CT - After darkness delayed the ending of the first day of competition, the Iona College golf team completed the second round of play at the Connecticut Cup Tuesday morning at Ellington Ridge Country Club. Following 36 holes, the squad sits tenth overall with a team score of 617 (+41). Connecticut sits first with a team score of 580.

Evan Deluca followed up a first round one-under 71 with an eight-over 80 in round two, and currently sits tied with 21st with a two round score of 151 (+7). Taylor Bellemare shot a six-over 78 in round one, and followed it up with a five-over 77 in round two, and sits tied for 38th with a two round score of 155 (+11). Brian Fitzpatrick carded an eight-over 80 in round one, followed by a three-over 75, and sits tied for 38th with a 155 (+11). Stefan Cygan sits tied for 49th with a 156 (+12) after shooting a seven-over 79 and a five-over 77 in round two. Tom McHugh is tied for 78th with a 162 (+18) after shooting nine-over 81 in back-to-back rounds.

The Gaels will compete the second day of competition Tuesday afternoon.
