NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Quinnipiac's Lianne Toomey scored with five seconds remaining in double overtime to give the Bobcats a 13-12 win over the Iona College lacrosse team at Mazzella Field.

Kylie Gregory scored six goals in the contest and added an assist to lead all scorers. Junior
Brittney Mabus scored a pair of goals, including one in double overtime. Sophomore
Meghan Testoni also added a pair of tallies for the Gaels.
With Iona Leading 12-11 with 1:28 remaining in the second overtime period, the Bobcats scored to tie the game with 36 seconds remaining before a red card allowed the visitors the opportunity to win the game.
The hosts took an early 3-0 lead with makers by Testoni, Mabus and Gregory. Quinnipiac kept it close it the opening period, tying the score 5-5 with 2:06 left after going on a 4-1 run to close out the half.
Quinnipiac scored to open the second, but Iona answered back with three goals to take an 8-6 lead. Junior

Three quick goals by QU allowed them back into the game and took a 9-8 edge. Gregory added back-to-back free position shot goals to give Iona a 10-9 lead with 10:02 left.
The Bobcats tied sent the game into extra time with a goal by Michela Tinsley with 4:50 and then held the ball the remaining time to force OT.
Neither team scored in the first session, but midway through, Mabus gave Iona a 12-11 lead before Quinnipiac scored both goals in the final minute.

Maria Ortiz made six saves for Iona and Samantha Tiles made 13 stops for the Bobcats. Iona outshot QU 32-24 with 16 coming in the first half. The Gaels also cleared 90 percent of their possession, with Quinnipiac at 87 percent.
The Gaels will take on Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon at Mazzella Field at noon.
