EASTON, MD - The Iona College golf team began its 2014 spring campaign Monday afternoon at the Whiting-Turner Towson Invitational. Weather moved the first day of competition to Hog Neck Golf Course, where the Maroon & Gold sits 22nd with a team score of 344.  Fairleigh Dickinson is first with a team score of 299.

Junior Evan DeLuca is the Gaels' top performer after the first day, sitting tied for 58th with a first round score of 81 (+9).  Junior Tom McHugh is tied with four others, including freshman teammate Brian Fitzpatrick, for 97th with a first round score of 86 (+14).  Junior Taylor Bellemare is in 112th place with a 19-over 91.

The Gaels complete action at the Towson Invite Tuesday morning beginning at 8:00 am at Prospect Bay CC in Grasonville, MD.
