The Iona men picked up its second win in as many days with a 136-87 score. The Maroon & Gold women fell short to the Friars 139.5- 101.5.
The Maroon & Gold were led by senior Zack Holbrook who picked up a pair of individual wins as he set two new school meter pool records. Holbrook beat the 100-Free mark by just seven hundredths of a seconds; the previous mark was held by teammate Christian Foti.
Sophomore Matthew Anderson took first in the 800-Free. Fellow rookie Eric Cruz made it four wins in two days by sweeping both the diving events. Foti claimed wins in the 200 and 400-meter freestyles, and rookie Conor Mullin touched first in the 200-Butterfly. Lastly, senior Christopher Vadala claimed the 200-Breaststroke.
The women's side saw sophomore Alyssa Chain break Theresa Harvey's 2012 clocking of 27.29 in the 50-meter freestyle. Chain touched the wall with a new fastest time of 26.85. Other winners for Iona included freshmen Kate DiRaimo in the 200-Breast, senior Elizabeth Kaczmarek in the 200-IM and junior Jessica Schmidt in the 200-Back.
Iona's next contest is at the annual H2Ounds Invitational hosted by Loyola University. It'll feature local opponents like Marist, Saint Peter's, Mount St. Mary's and the local Greyhounds.
