PEARL RIVER, NY – The Iona College golf program made a statement on Saturday with a dual match victory over defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Champions Saint Peter's.
The Gaels and Peacocks teed off at the Blue Hill Golf Course and the Maroon & Gold came out on top with a team score of 299 (+11) compared to 308 (+20).
Sophomore Oisin Devereux played his way to an under par round of 70 (-2) to lead the Maroon & Gold. Junior Paolo Matti submitted a scorecard of 74 (+2). Rookies Justin Burkhamer and Kritsarin Oukosavanna came in third and fourth at 75 (+3) and 80 (+8) to round out the top-four scoring rounds. Sophomore Matt Mirocco came in at 81 (+9) and junior Blake Vogdes closed with 87 (+15).
