NEW ORLEANS, LA – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association announced its fifth national coaches' poll on Wednesday afternoon. The Iona College men's cross country remains ranked number 14 in the national poll.
The Gaels tallied 183 votes from the coaches and they remain the top-ranked Northeast Region. Iona is the only Northeast Region team in the top 30.
There was no movement among the top three; it remains BYU, Northern Arizona and Arkansas. The biggest mover of the week was Stanford who moved up seven spots to the No. 5 spot. Colorado also moved up three spots so sneak in at the No. 10 position. The are two new members inside the nationally ranked top 30; Butler at No. 24 and Duke at No. 30.
As of now the Gaels first race is the MAAC Championship slated for Friday, March 5 in Galloway, NJ at the Seaview Golf Club. The NCAA Championship is on Monday, March 15 in the OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater, OK.
