MADISON, WI - The Iona University men's cross country team competed at the 2022 Nuttycombe Invitational at Zimmer Championship Course, hosted by the University of Wisconsin. Sophomore Damien Dilcher was the Gaels' top performer, finishing 70th overall in the 8k championship race.

IONA INDIVIDUALS

Dilcher posted time of 23:55.1 as the Maroon & Gold's first runner to cross the line. Junior Joshua DeSouza finished 104th (24:04.3), junior Mael Gouyette was 164th (24:30.7), junior Jonathan DeSouza was 177th (24:35.4) and senior Graham Baird crossed in 220th with a time of 25:15.0.

THE REST OF THE FIELD

The top 10 team finishes featured all nationally ranked programs. Stanford, BYU, Northern Arizona, Air Force, and Notre Dame were the top five. The Cardinal's Ky Robinson was the individual winner in 23:09.9.

UP NEXT

The Maroon & Gold is back in action in two weeks for the 2022 MAAC Championships at The Crossings of Colonie in Loudonville, NY. Iona seeks its 17th overall MAAC crown after winning the last six straight and 16 of the last 17.
