NEW YORK, NY - The Iona University men's indoor track & field team opened their 2022-23 campaign at the Rutgers Holiday Classic at the Armory Track & Field Center. A trio of Gaels earned top five finishes at the meet.
MEN'S 60-METER DASH
Freshman
Jiles Addison made his Iona debut and finished third overall in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.91. He was .005 seconds out of second place and Rider's Artie Burgess. The top time in the event was 6.84. Sophomore
Jeremy Scott (16th, 7.21) and junior
John Conroy (21st, 7.28) also competed in the event.
MEN'S 300-METER DASH
Junior
Jadyn Tabois' season debut was a third place finish in the 300-meter event. He ran a personal best time of 34.64, finishing behind a pair of runners from Rutgers. Conroy was 12th overall (36.35) and sophomore
Josh de Coteau was 25th (40.99).
MEN'S 5,000-METER RUN
Iona's third top five finish on the men's side was sophomore Matt Penna in the 5,000-meter run. Penna was fifth overall 15:27.96 in a personal best time. A trio of Stony Brook runners took the top three spots.
