NEW YORK, NY - The Iona University women's indoor track & field team opened their 2022-23 campaign at the Rutgers Holiday Classic at the Armory Track & Field Center. A quartet of Gaels earned top five finishes at the meet.
WOMEN'S 600-METER RUN
Junior
Grace Sparrow was one of two second place finishers for the Gaels. Her time of 1:37.44 was tops among attached collegiate competitors. Junior

Katie Menard (1:42.82) finished back-to-back in 11th and 12th place.
WOMEN'S 3,000-METER RUN
Junior
Gabrielle Toth earned a second place finish, posting a 10:02.85 in the 5,000-meter event. She finished behind Rutgers Alexandra Carlson. Sophomore
Kate Sherman (15th, 11:50.69) also competed.
WOMEN'S 60-METER DASH
Sophomore
Kedarjah Lewis finished fifth in the 60-meter dash, posting a time of 7.82. The hotly contested event saw her just .006 seconds out of fourth place and .1 behind the race winner. Two additional Gaels competed in junior
Bria Oatman (28th, 8.27) and sophomore
Tonian Fullerton (31st, 8.50).
WOMEN'S 1,000-METER RUN
Sophomore
Cosmina Spiridon was the lone Iona representative in the 1,000-meter event and finished fifth with a time of 3:12.69.
