Iona Men's Indoor Track Trio Run Personal Bests In Boston

BOSTON, MA - A trio of Iona University men's indoor track competitors completed action at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at the BU Track & Tennis Center. Junior Nick Soldevere, senior Graham Baird and sophomore Matthew Rankin all ran personal best times in representing the Maroon & Gold at Boston University on Saturday.

3,000 METER RUN

Soldevere was the 10th collegiate finisher and was 15th overall in the 3,000-meter event, posting a time of 8:08.02. It was nearly a second and a half better than his previous fastest effort set last season at the same meet.

5,000-METER RUN

Baird trimmed his personal best time in the 5,000-meter event by four seconds with a 14:06.69. He ran a 14:10.53 at IC4A's last season. Rankin's time was a near-five second personal overall 5k best in 14:17.02. His previous mark was set in the outdoor Raleigh Relays in March 2021.

UP NEXT

The Gaels will next compete on Jan. 20 at the Armory in New York City in the Ramapo Opener.
