Tyson Jolly and sophomore
Nelly Junior Joseph were honored by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association for their performances during the 2021-22 campaign. Jolly was named to the All-Met First Team while Junior Joseph was selected to the Second Team.
TYSON JOLLY
Jolly continues to pour in his postseason honors after electing to transfer to Iona College from SMU for his final season of eligibility. The 2022 MAAC Player of the Year has also been named All-MAAC First Team, NABC All-District, and USBWA All-District. Jolly participated in the 3X3U National Championships in New Orleans during the NCAA Final Four and was the second leading scorer in the tournament and helped his squad to a quarterfinal round appearance. He was also the lone MAAC representative at the Portsmouth Invitational, one of 64 senior student-athletes in a showcase tournament in front of professional scouts. At Iona he averaged a career-best 14.6 points per game to go along with 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
NELLY JUNIOR JOSEPH
Junior Joseph was a First Team All-MAAC selection along with NABC and USBWA All-District with his teammate Jolly. He posted 13.0 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, shooting nearly 55% from the field. He was the 2021 MAAC Rookie of the Year.
IONA'S ALL-MET SUCCESS SINCE 2011
Since 2011, 14 Iona players have earned 20 All-Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association selections. Mike Glover, Scott Machado, Lamont Jones, Sean Armand, A.J. English, Jordan Washington, Rickey McGill, E.J. Crawford,
Isaiah Ross and now Jolly have combined for 16 All-Met First Team honors, the most among MBWA schools. Machado and Jones earned the prestigious Haggerty Award in 2012 and 2013, as the top performer in the Metropolitan Area.

ABOUT THE MBWA
The MBWA encompasses 69 Met area college men's and women's teams across Divisions I, II and III, including 21 schools in Division I. There are 21 NCAA Division I programs covered by the MBWA.
The All-Met teams were honored at the 89th MBWA Haggerty Awards dinner on Monday evening, April 25, at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, NY.
