BETHLEHEM, PA - The Iona University men's cross country team competed at the 2022 Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University at Goodman Campus XC Course. Senior Jamie Dee led nine Gael performers in the race. As a team the Maroon & Gold finished 23rd out of 46 programs competing in the 8k Gold Race.

IONA PERFORMERS

Dee's time of 23:40.2 was good for with a 51st in the more than 400-runner race field. Iona's other four scorers included senior Graham Baird finished in 90th place (23:56.3), junior Donnovan Tucker in 162th (24:28.8) and sophomores Nick Soldevere (187th, 24:36.9) and Peter Schulten (250th, 24:57.8).

TOP RACE PERFORMERS

No. 13 North Carolina was the top team finisher followed by No. 21 Villanova, RV Utah State, No. 17 Georgetown and Duke to round out the top five. Tar Heel sophomore Parker Wolfe was the individual race winner in 23:02.4.

UP NEXT

Iona is back in action in two-weeks as a split squad qill compete at the Wisconsin Nuttycome Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin and the IC4A Championship at Van Cortlandt Park. Both events take place Friday, October 14.
