NEW YORK, NY - Six student-athletes on the Iona University men's and women's indoor track and field team competed on the first day of the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge at the Armory Track & Field Center Friday. Sophomore
Jeremy Scott was the lone representative on the men's side while sophomore
Kedarjah Lewis was the top competitor on the women's side.
MEN'S 60-METER DASH
Scott placed 27th overall in the men's 60-meter dash blue race preliminaries, running a personal best time of 7.10. He beat his previous best time by .08 seconds, set on three occasions, most recently last week.
WOMEN'S 60-METER DASH
Lewis was 25th in the women's 60-meter blue prelims posting a 7.84. Senior
Faith Preziosi competed in the women's 60-meter white prelims and beat her hand timed debut of 8.9 last week with an 8.20, good for 22nd overall.
WOMEN'S 60-METER HURDLES
Freshman
Maeghan Hickey was 34th in the women's 60-meter hurdles college preliminary heats posting a time of 9.61, .01 seconds behind her top time last weekend.
WOMEN'S LONG JUMP
Tonian Fullerton was 36th in the women's long jump college event with a measure of 4.53m.
UP NEXT
Iona continues action at the Sander Challenge tomorrow with competitors in the men's and women's 200-meter dash, the men's 400-meter, women's 800-meter, the men's and women's mile, and the men's 3,000-meter.
