NEW YORK, NY - The Iona University women's indoor track and field team competed on the final day of the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge at the Armory Track & Field Center. Five student-athletes competed in three individual events and a relay on Saturday.
800-METER RUN
Junior
Grace Sparrow was Iona's top finisher on Saturday, placing 10th in the 800-meter event. Her 2:15.05 was her second fastest indoor 800 time. Sparrow finished fourth in her heat. Sophomore
Katie Menard was 25th overall in 2:22.20, a season-best time for the second year performer.
MILE RUN
Junior
Gabrielle Toth ran a personal best time of 4:58.80 in the mile and finished 13th overall. Toth lowered her best time by a second, set in the same meet in 2020.
4x400-METER RELAY
The quartet of Sparrow, Menard, freshman
Nadine Jefremow, and sophomore
Jamie Gudyka placed 17th in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:11.95. It stands as the fourth fastest time for a MAAC team this season.
200-METER DASH
Jefremow rounded out Iona's competitors Saturday with a 62nd place finish (28.47) in the 200-meter event.
