STONY BROOK, NY - The Iona University men's and women's outdoor track and field programs opened the 2023 campaign at the Stony Brook Snowflake Classic. Senior

Andrew Fogarty were the top men's performers earning first place finishes while sophomore
Susie O'Flynn's second place banner was tops on the women's side.
MEN'S 800-METER RUN
Gouyette finished first in the 800-meter event posting a 1:53.25. Teammate
Tristan Coles, in his Iona outdoor track debut, finished second in 1:55.63. Coles was nearly 13 seconds ahead of the No. 3 finisher.
MEN'S 1,500-METER RUN
Fogarty was the first runner to cross in the men's 1,500. His 4:05.59 was seven seconds faster than the No. 2 finisher from host Stony Brook
WOMEN'S 800-METER RUN
O'Flynn finished second in the 800-meter event, with a 2:20.35. She was two seconds behind the race winner and nearly six seconds faster than No. 3.
WOMEN'S 3,000-METER RUN
Freshman
McKenna Arguien was third overall in the 3k (10:56.74), finishing behind a pair of Fordham runners. It was her first outdoor event in Maroon & Gold.
WOMEN'S 1,500-METER RUN
Junior
Grace Sparrow earned fourth place in the women's 1,500, posting a time of 4:55.64. Teammate
Katie Menard was seventh (5:04.43).
MEN'S 3,000-METER RUN
Sophomore
Daniel Shephard (8:57.37), junior
Peter Schulten (8:59.71) and freshman
Jack O'Keefe (9:12.41) finished fourth, fifth and sixth in the men's 3k.
MEN'S SHOT PUT
Freshman
John Khader earned second place honors with a 11.41m toss.
