PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Iona University women's outdoor track and field team competed at the 2023 Rutgers Relays at Bauer Track and Field Complex Saturday afternoon.
WOMEN'S 100-METER DASH
Sophomore
Kedarjah Lewis was the top finisher for the Gaels, earning fourth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.16. It was a season-best time for the Gaels and just .01 seconds off her own personal-best and school record time set last year at the MAAC Championship.
WOMEN'S 1,500-METER RUN
Sophomore
Cara Du Preez and junior
Maya Richardson earned top 10 finish in the 1,5000-meter event. Du Preez was fifth (4:49.19) and Richardson seventh (4:52.17). For Du Preez it was her first collegiate 1,500-meter effort.
WOMEN'S 800-METER RUN
Junior
Grace Sparrow was Iona's top performer in the 800-meter event, finishing seventh in 2:12.76. It was a half second behind her personal best time set a week prior at Providence.
Sophomores
Katie Menard (11th, 2:18.08) and sophomore
Susie O'Flynn (14th, 2:19.42) and junior
Jamie Gudyka (30th, 2:31.10) also competed in the event.
WOMEN'S LONG JUMP
Lewis also earned seventh place honors in the long jump, posting an outdoor personal-best 5.82m.
WOMEN'S 400-METER RUN
Freshman
Megan Sterbenz was 18th in the 400-meter run (1:01.65).
