HOPKINTON, NH - The Iona University women's cross country team finished 18th at the 2024 NCAA Northeast Regional Championship held at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds. Senior Madison Klein led the Maroon & Gold with a 71st place finish in the race.

IONA PERFORMERS

Klein crossed the 6k championship race with a time of 21:27.08. She was the fourth MAAC harrier to finish the race. Sophomore Claragh Keane was Iona's second finisher, in 93rd place with her time of 21:40.90. Rookie Muireann Duffy was third, 108th overall in 21:52.70. Freshman Kiera Atkinson posted a 21:56.44, good for 112th place. Junior Kate Tugman was the Gaels' fifth scorer in 152nd place (22:24.48). Sophomore McKenna Arguien (167th, 22:40.03) also represented the Gaels. Thirty-nine teams and 273 runners competed in the event.

TEAM SCORES

Providence (51 points) cruised to the regional title. It was followed by Syracuse (105), Boston College (131), Harvard (131) and Connecticut (151) to round out the top five. Iona finished with 531 team points, second to Quinnipiac (393) among MAAC foes.
