PENNSAUKEN, NJ - The Iona University women's rowing team raced two boats on the opening day of the 2024 Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River in South Jersey. The Gaels' varsity eight advanced to the semifinal after a seventh place performance in the time trials. The varsity four crew competed in its time trial heat Friday morning.

Grace Mutze posted a time of 7:30.64, two seconds behind sixth place Loyola. Fordham, Drexel, and Embry-Riddle took the top three spots. The Maroon & Gold finished ahead of Bryant and traditionally strong Delaware program. Iona finished eight seconds ahead of the Bulldogs, two weeks after coming in behind them at the Novak Memorial Metropolitan Championships.

Carly Schofield. Battling weather conditions and a tough lane draw, the Gaels finished 13th in 9:33.27.
