PENNSAUKEN, NJ - The Iona University women's rowing team advanced to the varsity 8 petite final on the final day of the 2024 Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River in South Jersey.
THE RUNDOWN
The Gaels finished fourth in its semifinal heat with a time of 7:37.53, falling just shy of the grand final. Drexel, Embry-Riddle and Loyola Maryland finished ahead of Iona in the second heat of the semifinal round.

"We were frustrated about not making the grand final," said junior
Grace Barber. "But one thing Iona knows how to do is make a comeback."

The crew crossed first in its final with a time of 7:22.8, ahead of Bryant with a 7:41.6 finish, and Delaware with an 8:28.8 finish.

"Absolutely electric, from wire to wire," said Director of Men's and Women's Rowing,
Ben MacDougald.

UP NEXT
The event completes the 2023-24 campaign for the women's program under first-year director MacDougald. The junior-laden Gaels return to New Rochelle this Fall to run it back once again!
