EDISON, NJ— For the second consecutive week, the Iona University women's soccer team was represented on the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference weekly awards as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. First-year forward Ava Barker was named MAAC Rookie of the Week after a two-goal week for the Gaels.

Barker paced the Maroon & Gold in scoring this past week. The Bloomfield, NJ native tallied her first collegiate goal and first career brace in Wednesday's 2-2 draw against Rider. Barker scored her first collegiate goal just 39 seconds into the game and then followed up with her second tally 13 minutes later. She followed that up with five shot attempts in 73 minutes played in Saturday's 1-0 win over Mount St. Mary's.

The Gaels take their four-game unbeaten streak on the road once again with a trip to first-place Sacred Heart on Wednesday, October 15 for a 6 p.m. kickoff from Park Ave Field.
