NEW YORK, NY -Â The Iona University women's track & field team finished fifth overall in the 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships held at the Nike Track & Field Center at the Armory in New York, New York.
Claragh Keane highlighted the Gaels' best efforts, taking home bronze in the 3000-meter event. Â
WOMEN'S 3000-METER RUN
Three Gaels took on the 3000-meter event, with
Claragh Keane medaling and finishing third with a time of 9:48.26.
Madison Klein came in fifth with a time of 9:52.31, while
McKenna Arguien took home a personal best time of 10:15.68 , finishing 15th. Â
WOMEN'S 800-METER RUN
Katie Menard grabbed a personal best time of 2:15.72 in the 800-meter event, taking home five points towards Iona's team tally.Â
Women's Mile run
Kiera Atkinson stood as the lone Gael representative and took home 6th place points in the mile event final, narrowly missing out on a personal best with a time of 4:59.86. Â
WOMEN'S 400-meter run
Ava McAuliffe competed in the final of the 400-meter event, finishing in fifth place and hauling in four points for the Maroon & Gold with a 58.45 second effort. Â
woMEN'SÂ 4x800-METER relay
Kiera Atkinson,
Maddy Luscombe, Payton Foster, and
Tayla Gunton all contributed to a time of 4:07.14 in the 400-meter relay, taking home fifth place points. Â
