BOSTON, MA - The Iona University women's indoor track team started its first day of competition at the 2025 Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday in Boston. Five runners represented the Maroon & Gold across four events, with the highlights of the day coming the in the form of an indoor 200-meter school record earned by
Ava McAuliffe, and a third-place finish in the 5000-meter run final for
Madison Klein.
woMEN'S 5000-METER RUN FINAL
Madison Klein raked in a podium finish in the 5000-meter event, earning third place with a time of 17:09.26.
Claragh Keane followed in 6th place with a time of 17:26.85
woMEN'S MILE RUN PRELIMINARIES
Kiera Atkinson finished 10th in the mile event preliminaries and qualified for Sunday's final with a time of 4:27.14. The time stands as the Freshman's personal best.
Maddy Luscombe joined the personal best party with a time of 5:00.10, finishing 14th.
WOMEN'S 200-METER dash PRELIMINARIES
Ava McAuliffe set a school record for the indoor 200-meter event with a time of 25.41. The previous record stood for more than half a dozen years before the Freshman set her time.
